Positioning gameobjects is simpler with a useful layout. Here is the saved custom layout named “Professional” for use:

Unity layout with top left Scene view and bottom left Game view.

Clicking on the Scene tab, the Game tab or other tabs allows you to drag the pane to a desired location.

click Scene tab and drag to desired location

Here the over under Scene / Game allows for a convenient double view while making changes.

After starting with a Tall layout, drag the Game view to the bottom and then slide the horizontal divider up to match the neighbor Project Layout.

Save

Return to the top left of the Unity window layout drop down menu to pick Save Layout from the list and choose a name, such as “Professional.”

At the top right of the Unity window is the search (magnifying glass), Layers and Layout dropdown menu. There are several standard layouts.

the default layout
the 2 by 3 layout
the Four Split layout
the Tall layout
the Wide layout

One final note. Yes it is possible to drag a pane off the Unity window.
